Police officials said that this incident came just two days after the formation of the BJP government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. Officials claimed that the abattoir was closed in 2012 but the work was being done in a secret way. A joint team of pollution control board and municipal corporation took action with the administrative and police officials, seized the abattoir box and recovered more than five dozen cattle. Officials said that the abattoir manager failed to show the valid documents related to the cattle, after which the abattoir was sealed.
